3 Bodaboda Riders Perished Instantaneously in a Truck Collision; Corpses Found on the Side of the Road in Volta

MOTOR ACCIDENT

Adomonline reported today that three bodaboda motorcyclists were killed in a sad accident in the Volta Region after their motorcycles collided with a vehicle.
There was shock and grief in the community after the event on the main Ho-Dzodze route.
The truck, which was apparently speeding, lost control and collided with the motorcycles late in the evening, according to witnesses.
Their bodies were discovered next to the crumpled remains of their motorcycles at the side of the road.
Kofi Asare, a local who lives close to the accident location, said, "I heard a loud crash and rushed out to see what had happened."
It was awful. The truck driver was trembling as he stood there as the riders lay dead.
Initial investigations suggest that the truck driver may have been at fault for the collision by failing to use the brakes in a timely manner. Poor road visibility may have also played a role in the tragedy, according to some witnesses.
Mary Mensah, another resident, spoke sorrowfully about the scenario.
"It seemed unbelievable to us. That was the end of the three young men. It will be devastating for their families. These youngsters were diligent riders who were always willing to assist others.
Police and emergency services arrived shortly after the accident to secure the scene and transport the bodies to the mortuary. Officials confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the collision.
Inspector Daniel Kpodo, the local police officer in charge, urged road users to exercise caution, especially during nighttime.
"This is a very sad incident," he said. "We are reminding everyone to follow traffic rules and avoid overspeeding. Lives are too precious to be lost like this."
The news of the accident has sparked calls for better road safety measures in the region. Residents have demanded the installation of speed bumps and improved road lighting to prevent such tragedies in the future.
“We need to act now before more lives are lost,” said Kwame Boateng, a community leader. “It’s time for the authorities to make our roads safer.”
