German defender Antonio Rüdiger is set to be out of action for Real Madrid after suffering a Biceps Femoris injury against Espanyol.
Rüdiger was replaced by youngster, Raul Asencio, after 15 minutes into the game, which Real Madrid eventually ended up losing 1-0.
Rüdiger may be out for close to six weeks, missing nearly eight matches, including a double header playoff against Manchester City in the Champions League.
“Following tests carried out on Antonio Rüdiger by Real Madrid’s medical services, the player has been diagnosed with an injury to the biceps femoris in his right leg. His progress will be monitored,” read an official statement by Real Madrid.
