The Old Achimotan Association (OAA24) is grieving the loss of two of its members, Davida Asante Boateng and Lilian Akorli, both from Stopford House, who tragically died in an accident on March 7, 2025.
The incident occurred along the Achimota Highway in Accra as the two were returning to the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) after attending the Annual Bonfire Celebration at Achimota School. According to an official statement from the OAA24 Executive Board, they were struck by a black Toyota Corolla while crossing the highway at around 11:30 PM.
Eyewitnesses reported that the driver failed to stop, leaving bystanders to rush the victims to the hospital. They arrived at the medical facility at approximately 12:02 AM. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Davida Asante Boateng was pronounced dead at 4:00 AM on March 8. Lilian Akorli, though critically injured, fought for her life but sadly passed away later that morning.
Their untimely deaths have left the OAA24 community in deep sorrow, as friends, family, and colleagues mourn their passing.
In a statement signed by OAA24 President Brainard Apraku and General Secretary Wendy Naaki Tetteh, the association expressed deep sympathy to the families of Davida and Lilian. They also promised to support them during this difficult time.
“The Old Achimotan Association (OAA24) extends our deepest condolences to the families of Davida and Lilian. We will continue to provide support to their families and find ways to honor their memory,” the statement said.
The association also assured the public that they would share any new information about the accident as it becomes available.
